About Me
Freelance Image based artist, cinematographer and director based in Spain.
Born in Madrid just a few months before the fall of the Berlin Wall, grew interested in arts. Quitted Psychology at university after developing a love and passion for photography. That led to an upper degree on Image where discovered the world of the darkroom and traditional photography, while getting interested in lighting for motion and still images. And so enrolled in ECAM, Madrid Film School. Presently works both mediums, still and moving.
Personal Film Projects
Álvaro has worked as director of photography on several projects, most recently on the feature documentary Malditos Arrebatados (2025), directed by Marta Medina and produced by Apache Films and 39 Escalones, premiering at San Sebastian Film Festival, as well as the fiction feature Deprés de la nit (WIP), directed by Paula Pedemonte and produced by Vaquera Films and RAW Factory.
As well as music videos for artists as Sen Senra, Israel Fernández, Abraham Mateo, La la Love you, Zahara and Alizz among others.
Has also directed music videros for artists such as Nathy Peluso and Biznaga and commercials and content for brands including Geox, Cruzcampo, Mexifoods, and MAC Cosmetics.


Kit
Owner operator of a Super16 Arriflex Film kit as well digital, continous lighting and stills photography equipment.
Comissioned works
Has directed several short films that lie between documentary and experimental cinema, combining documentary techniques with evocative visual aesthetics while playing with time, memory, and movement. His works include Azinheira (2021), La Edad Del Movimiento (2020), 143, 206, 268 (2019), and Ferrytale (2019), all produced by Spiegel Films.
